Yoga for the Joints: Letting Energy Flow

  • About: In this class, learn to surf! Not exactly hanging ten through the barrel, but there definitely are some big waves to prepare for. You're not going to be heading for the beaches of Hawaii, but rather for the energies that lay within.

    The body is an energetic system with life-energizing forces known as prana moving through channels called nadis. These channels congregate at major hubs known as chakras. When these energies flow unobstructed, one feels rooted, creative, courageous, full of love, in line with truth (personal and otherwise), wise, intuitive, and connected to the divine. Sounds good, huh?

    Step one in opening the chakras is connecting to prana. Physically, prana tends to get stuck in the joints. In this class, Dan will guide you through a simple joint-opening sequence that will aid in opening up the flow of energy within the body. You're invited to listen deeply and notice any sensations of gentle tingling, electricity, or excited power flowing within you.
