Live & In-Person Schedule
Weekly Classes
Find me live at Vital Yoga in Bellingham! I teach Movement + Meditation Mondays at 7:00pm - 8:15pm.
What Are Sessions Like?
Sessions are all-level informal experiences combining asana, pranayama, meditation, mindfulness, and philosophy designed to deliver you time and opportunity to reconnect, explore, play, mend, and dive in. We flow along the balance of communal momentum and support, and radical individuality. Instruction is always an invitation - feel free to go along with the guided ride or, if you feel compelled, do your own thing (so long as you’re respectful to your neighbors).
Recorded Experiences
I’m working on putting together some modern content, but in the meantime find some videos from the early pandemic years below.
Yoga for the Joints: Letting Energy Flow
What do you do when you get so caught up with stressors that you just can't deal anymore? Do you fight harder and grind yourself into exhaustion? Do you go aloof and drift into apathy? Do you get consumed into anxiety? We know it's easier said than done, but how about taking a step back to get some perspective?
By tapping into the body the mind has something to focus on other than stressors, and thereby can enter into a place of stillness...or at least perspective. You're invited to take some time to root into your body. This is an all-levels yoga flow with the intention of breathing deeply, moving freely, and enjoying a personal staycation.
75 Divine Minutes (Yin Yoga)
Yin yoga is a modality where practitioners learn how to control time. In one way, deep breathing and complete absorption into sensation allows minutes to pass like mere moments. On the other hand, that same relaxed focus can make the shortest of moments seem stretched, silent, and profound. It’s the strangeness of time and our perception of it – and all this from relaxing into a stretch.
Reconnecting to the Body (Flow)
What do you do when you get so caught up with stressors that you just can't deal anymore? Do you fight harder and grind yourself into exhaustion? Do you go aloof and drift into apathy? Do you get consumed into anxiety? We know it's easier said than done, but how about taking a step back to get some perspective?

Creating Stillness (Gentle Yoga)
How does one hear to the body's wisdom when there is so much else calling our attention? Through active, conscious, and deliberate quieting. This class is a gentle exploration of movement which provides a setting for relaxation and rooting into silence.
You're invited to take some time to move, stretch, and release. Through diving into quiet spaces, you may be surprised by what you find. That said, what obstacles do you face in creating quiet? Have you ever received wisdom through creating deliberate stillness?
The Body's Wisdom (Yin Yoga)
We continue our theme of listening to the body's wisdom with a special Yin Yoga Class. Yin is a style that encourages introspection and connection through long held poses, deep breathing, and honoring 80% sensation.
You're encouraged to take the time to explore the areas that feel restricted. To create space. To dive in and in. Which calls this week's discussion question, "what does it mean to go in and in?"
Post Hike Yoga (Flow)
In today's class, we're taking a quick detour from our theme of "listening to the body". Instead, Dan will guide you through a post-hike practice to open up the parts of the body that tend to get hike after a long day in the woods.
What gets tight? Mostly everything.
Who can this benefit? Hikers, walkers, runners, joggers, bikers, weight lifters, and even those who sit a lot. In short, it's a great class to get into the body and feel great.
Dirga for Self Care (Flow)
Today's class focuses on Dirga Pranayama - translated as the "Complete Breath" but commonly known as three-part breath. This is an amazing technique for not only training oneself to breathe deeply and rhythmically, but also to ground, calm, energize, and stabilize. The remaining class consists of gentle full body movements to leave you feeling recharged and grounded.
Retaining Wisdom (Flow)
This week we explore a question that may be top-of-mind for those who are inclined towards continual inner growth: how do you keep those profound insights and habits brought on by this unique time when a sense of status quo returns? Let us know what comes up through movement, what ideas you've brewed up on your own, and if you have any question or advice for others.
